Support Geography & Anthropology

There are many ways to support the Department of Geography and Anthropology, its students and its programs.  Financially, Geography and Anthropology benefits from the work of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. Support provided through the Foundation allows the department to provide student scholarships and support activities that would not be possible through the department's annual operating budget.

For example, it was with money donated to the department through the Foundation that we were able to so successfully host the West Lakes Region Association of American Geographers annual meeting here on campus in October 2013.  As a professor from the University of Minnesota simply emailed me right afterward, "Thanks for putting on a superb conference. One of the best I have attended."  This would not have been possible without your support through the Foundation.

For additional details on donating to the Department of Geography and Anthropology, click here and then click on the Give Now button for various options on how to give through the Foundation.  If you want to donate on-line, be sure to specify that you are giving to the Department of Geography and Anthropology in the Gift Information box.  Donations can also be used to support specific programs and activities within the department, such as field and immersion experiences, and we have been developing thank you gifts   like the geography t-shirt picture here   that we would love get to you as a token of our appreciation.  Please call, and I will try to get more detailed information up shortly.

There are other ways to meaningfully support the work of the department.  For one, we are trying to build up our network of alumni and friends so that our students and graduates have contacts and networks to help with internships, jobs and other professional and career opportunities.  Please use the internship and alumni blogs on the Department's homepage as a way of staying in touch.  If you have any leads or suggestions, please pass them along.

Thank you for your support.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, Ms. Yvonne Plomedahl, others in the department, or the Foundation.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Paul Kaldjian
